City Of Bones – Review

Hey! I’m sorry I haven’t posted, I’ve been super busy.

 Blurb

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murdermuch less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothingnot even a smear of bloodto show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy? This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . . Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Review

I don’t know where to start, just wow. This book was a slow book for me, but I was indulged in every minute of it, and enjoyed all of it. The world created by Cassandra Clare’s mind is pure perfection and really grips you and holds you in. At first, it takes awhile to adjust to the world, and understand the ways of the people, but this book really is amazing. City Of Bones is the first book in “The Mortal Instruments” which contains 5 books and owns a corresponding series about the Shadowhunter world in the past. The main viewpoint for this book is 15 year-old Clarissa Fray and the story is about her discovering her hidden past and finding who she truly is. This books puts a unique spin on fairy-tale characters including, demons, werewolves and even vampires. I really don’t want to ruin this series for you with spoilers but it will leave you eyes bulged with the plot twists that you will not see coming! The only negative comment I have on this book, is that I found I got confused a little with all the information that wasn’t put into detail on the world.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend this series written by Cassandra Clare, id you are struggling to get through this book and decide to not read the second, shame on you! I beg for you to read the second book, as you will get used to the world and find it much easier to read!
